Open Position - Full Professorship in Dependable Embedded Systems


The Faculty of Information Technology, Department of Computer Engineering invites applications of outstanding scientists for:

Full professorship in Dependable Embedded Systems

Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to: embedded digital systems, dependability, reliability, fault tolerance, architectures and platforms, embedded software, system-level design issues, modelling, analysis and synthesis. Ideally, the candidate's research would connect with and complement the TUT’s research in related areas. The research will be carried out within the Centre for Integrated Electronic Systems and Biomedical Engineering

Duties: General responsibility for research and research education, teaching and supervision at postgraduate level and teaching at advanced and basic levels.  Research in the holder's chosen field. Supplying information about research and development in the research field. Planning research projects. Participation in leadership and administrative roles involving responsibility for budget and personnel may be relevant.  Demonstrated ability to attract external grants will be expected.  Previous experience gained from research in industry or the public sector will be particularly relevant. The applicant must have the teaching proficiency required for the position and in addition, unless there are special reasons, formal pedagogical training relevant for the tasks associated with this position.   The applicant should be able to demonstrate good leadership capability and high capability of cooperation.  Innovation abilities are appreciated. Attention will also be given to applicants’ ability to: co-operate, develop and supervise activities and staff, interact with the surrounding community and to inform the public about research and developmental work.

  • Complete list of publications
  • Two reference persons who can be contacted (describe association with them and give their contact addresses)
  • Copies of the applicant's best scientific publications (not more than 10)
  • Copies of a maximum of 10 other publications (such as pedagogy, and popular science) in support of pedagogical and other merits
  • Plans for future work, both scientific and educational, if appointed
  • Any other relevant documents
